I grew up in Houston, TX adopted by Arnold John Tomac and Nora Faye Tomac. I was born in 1964 and grew up in the same house all my life. My mom was a stay at home mom and my dad was the chef/owner @ Kaphan’s restaurant. Kaphan’s was a Houston institution from 1927 to the day it closed in 1997. My Dad started working there in the mid to late 50’s and was there till the day it closed.
My mom wasn’t a cook, so I got my love of cooking from my dad. I like to cook because I can just throw stuff together, but I love to bake. Baking is more time consuming but usually the beauty and yum of the finished product is worth it.
I am a very blunt person. Some may find that trait rude. I don’t. Yes sometimes the truth hurts, but so do lies. I decided a long time ago that if I am going to hurt someone, I’d rather hurt them with the truth than a lie.
Married since 1990. Ed and I were married in Las Vegas on Sept. 15, 1990 at the Graceland chapel. While there we stayed downtown at the Golden Nugget and to this day it is my favorite place to go for vacations. No kids, unfortunately, but it is something God dealt so we have to live with it. Love dogs! We have 2. The 2 we have right now are Dexter and Harley.
Have lived only in Texas but have lived in several cities here. Houston, Waco, Arlington, Dallas and Irving. I miss living in Waco and Irving. If I could move back to either I would.
Have an AAS in Computer Networking. Older sister living in Tennessee, another older sister living in Virginia, and nieces and nephews spread out all across the country. Best friend of all time is my husband, Ed.
Don’t ever ask for my opinion if you really don’t want it, AND NEVER expect me to be someone I’m not! 😉
And this is just about all that I am about.
